VGS Face Rival Blackhawk

The Lakewood Park Christian Panther girls soccer team was defeated in an away match against Blackhawk Christian on August 29, with a final score of 5-0.  Blackhawk applied a lot of offensive pressure to start the game and went into the half with a 4 -0 lead.  The second half was much closer with Lakewood only conceding one own-goal that was inadvertently deflected in by a defender.  A bright spot for the Panthers came from between the posts with junior goalkeeper Millie Linnemeier making a total of 10 saves in the game.  Seniors Anya Barg and Paige Trammel also had impressive performances on defense.  Anya effectively shut down multiple Blackhawk attacks in both the outside fullback and center back positions.  Paige made a number of important defensive tackles in her outside fullback position to frustrate the opponents.  The Lady Panthers are back in action on Thursday, August 31 at 5:00pm in their first home game against Garrett.
