VGS vs. West Noble

The Lakewood Park Christian Panther girls soccer team was defeated at home by West Noble on September 11th, with a final score of 2-1.  The first half of the game was played fairly even, but West Noble being able to convert on its chances while Lakewood was not as fortunate.  West Noble scored both of their goals in the first half.  Senior Aubrey Jester had the Panthers’ best opportunity to score in the first half when she dribbled past multiple defenders and fired a shot that was stopped only by the crossbar.  The second half of the game was controlled by Lakewood who were in the West Noble half of the field the majority of the time.  The Panthers finally got a breakthrough when freshmen Hannah Sibery fought to win back a ball from a defender then played a perfectly weighted cross into freshmen Sabra Harms who headed the ball into the back of the net.  This was Sabra first high school goal and she converted it in magnificent fashion.  Lakewood continued to press but were unable to get the equalizer.  The Lady Panthers are back in action in an away match on Friday, September 15th at 8:00pm against Canterbury.
