Softball Loses Both to Homestead

Softball played a DH on Saturday.
First Game:
Lakewood Park Panthers lost the lead late in a 16-8 defeat to Homestead on Saturday. Homestead trailed 8-6 in the top of the fifth inning when A Felger doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.
Despite the loss, Lakewood Park Panthers did collect 12 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Homestead had 19 hits on the way to victory.
The girls captured the lead in the second inning. Alli Knox drove in two when she doubled.
Lakewood Park Panthers evened things up at six in the bottom of the third inning. Cassidy Randol hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
Lakewood notched four runs in the third inning. Hadyn Faur, Randol, and Kaylee Zehr each had RBIs in the frame.
K Felger led things off on the rubber for Homestead. She lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and eight runs while striking out seven and walking zero.
Maddy Lipscomb was on the mound for Lakewood Park Panthers. She lasted five innings, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while walking zero. Mackenzie Delancey threw two innings in relief.
Lakewood tallied 12 hits in the game. Lilly Kruse, Lipscomb, Mica Allen, and Zehr all collected multiple hits for Lakewood Park Panthers. Kruse went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead The Panthers in hits.

The Panthers lost the second game 9-1.
