Baseball Demolishes ECA Twice Saturday

First Game of the DH:
Lakewood Park coasted to an easy victory over Elkhart Christian Academy 11-4 for the first game, Saturday.
Lakewood pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Drew Lyons singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run and Bailey Petty’s wild pitch allowed two runs to score for Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity.
Lakewood Park notched three runs in the sixth inning. Luke Shively, Isaac Schlotterback, and Grant Merkel each drove in runs during the inning.
Shively toed the rubber for Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. He allowed seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out eight.
The boys totaled eight hits. Shively, Schlotterback, and Merkel all had multiple hits for Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. Merkel, Schlotterback, and Shively each collected two hits to lead Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Carsten White led the way with two.

Second Game of DH:
The boys demolished ECA to end a long Saturday, 20-5.
Even though Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity gave up four runs in the fourth inning, they still defeated Elkhart Christian Academy 20-5 on Saturday.
The boys fired up the offense in the first inning, when Drew Lyons doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Lakewood Park notched eight runs in the second inning. Isaac Schlotterback, Grant Merkel, Reed Sanderson, Harrison Roberts, Carsten White, and Luke Shively all drove in runs in the frame.
Roberts toed the rubber for Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. He allowed six hits and five runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one.
Tj Tice led things off on the hill for Elkhart Christian Academy. He lasted four innings, allowing 19 hits and 20 runs while striking out four.
Lakewood Park tallied 19 hits on the day. White, Roberts, Sanderson, Shively, Schlotterback, Chandler Childers, and Lyons each racked up multiple hits for Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. Roberts and White each collected three hits to lead Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Shively led the way with two.
