JH Soccer vs. Harlan Christian

The Lakewood Park Jr High team improved their record to 9-2 with wins over Canterbury on Monday and Harlan Christian on Tuesday.

On Monday the defenses held strong in the first half keeping the game scoreless. Colton White got the Panthers on the board about 10 minutes into the second half. Zach Collins added a 2nd goal with a nice free kick from 35 yards out. The Panthers defense continued to play strong and earned a 2-0 shutout win.

On Tuesday Lakewood won 2-1 against Harlan Christian. Michael Kruse put a nice cross from Grant Merkel into the back of the net 6:25 into the game. The Panthers didn’t score again until 1:05 into the second half when Grant Merkel received a pass from Sam Kirsch and hammered it home. Harlan Christian scored with about 6 minutes left forcing the Panther defense to work hard to preserve the victory.

The Panthers will play again next Monday against Lakeland and then finish their season next Tuesday at Home against Churubusco.
