New Panthers Head Bball Coach

The Panthers have announced the new Varsity Basketball Head Coach, Coach Wayne Brooks. Coach Brooks has a lot of basketball knowledge and is returning to coach the Panthers to a successful year. Coach Brooks teaches Physical Education for the East Allen School District.

Coach Brooks started his basketball coaching career as a Student Assistant at Vincennes University. After finishing his associates’ degree at Vincennes, he transferred to Seton Hall where he served for two more years as a Student Assistant while finishing his bachelors’ degree in education. From Seton Hall, he went back to Vincennes as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach, and later served in this same capacity at Western Kentucky and Duquesne Universities.

Coach Brooks left the college basketball scene to pursue a career in education and to be a head varsity boys basketball coach. He has been a head varsity coach for 11 years at several schools around the State of Indiana. a former coach who played against Brooks referred to Coach Brooks as “the coach I hated to coach against the most.” He has served as a College Basketball Camp Instructor at IU, Seton Hall, Rose Hulman, Indiana State, Iowa State, and other colleges.

He is married to Cathy Brooks and has two grown children, Blaze and Jenny. Coach Wayne and Cathy live just minutes from Lakewood Park in rural Auburn. Coach Brooks looks to lead the Panthers to another successful season.
