Softball Beats Northrop Twice Saturday

The Panthers got out to a seven-run lead in the third inning and held on for an 11-9 victory over Fort Wayne Northrop on Saturday. Fort Wayne Northrop scored six runs in the failed comeback on a triple by M Beekley in the fourth, a wild pitch during H Manes’s at bat in the fourth, a groundout by E Burnau in the fifth, and a triple by A Smith in the fifth.
Lilly Kruse led Lakewood Park Panthers to victory by driving in five runs. She went 3-for-3 at the plate. Kruse drove in runs on a double in the second, a single in the third, and a single in the fifth.
Lakewood Park Panthers opened up scoring in the first inning. Hadyn Faur drove in three when she homered.
Lakewood Park Panthers put up four runs in the third inning. Mica Allen, Kruse, and Mackenzie Shepherd powered the big inning with RBIs.
Mackenzie Delancey got the start for Lakewood Park Panthers. She surrendered three runs on four hits over four innings, striking out seven.
Lakewood Park Panthers tallied one home run fro the first game. Faur had a dinger in the first inning.
Lakewood Park Panthers collected nine hits. Faur and Kruse each collected three hits to lead Lakewood Park Panthers. Kruse led Lakewood Park Panthers with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.

In the second game of the double header,
Lakewood Park Panthers won big over Fort Wayne Northrop 14-2.
Dager toed the rubber for Lakewood Park Panthers. She went five innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out two and walking one.
Lakewood Park Panthers hit one home run. Cassidy Randol had a homer in the second inning.
Sammy Schlotter went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lakewood Park Panthers in hits. Lakewood Park Panthers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hadyn Faur had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
