Junior High Soccer Stays Undefeated

The Lakewood Park Junior High team traveled to Kreager Park Thursday to face Fort Wayne Fusion and improved their record to 5-0 with a 3-2 win.

The Fusion started strong with a goal 26 seconds into the match. However, the Lakewood Park Panthers defense responded and didn’t allow another shot the rest of the half. The Panthers were able to tie the match up in the 23rd minute with a hard shot from Zach Collins, Blake Miller assisted on the play. In the Second half the Fusion once again took the lead on a PK just 4 minutes into the half. Collins struck again 6 minutes later to tie the game up at 2-2. Just two minutes later Lakewood earned their own PK with a hard cross from Blake Miller that found a Fusion hand. Collins calmly put it away to give the Panthers the lead. The defense continued to play strong not allowing any shots after the Fusion’s second goal.

The Panthers host Garrett next Monday night at 4:30.
