7GBB Wins Hamilton Tournament

The Lakewood Park Christian School seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams tallied three victories at the Hamilton junior high girls basketball tournament, Saturday, January 21. The seventh graders went 2-0 for the day, while the eighth graders split their two matchups.

In the first game, Lakewood’s seventh graders defeated Hamilton, 32 to 27. Taylor Gerke led all scorers with 18 points, including a three-point basket. Haley Kruse added eight points, and Samantha Hartz scored six. The Panthers made a season-low nine turnovers.

In the second seventh grade game of the day, Lakewood defeated Fremont, 38 to 28. Taylor Gerke led all scorers with 29 points, including a bucket from behind the three-point line. Haley Kruse chipped in five points, while Samantha Hartz and Danielle Lesser each added two.

The Lakewood Park eighth grade girls defeated Fremont, 34 to 22, in their first matchup of the day. Mackenzie Shepherd led all scorers with 15 points. Chloe Jolloff scored seven points, including a tray. Taylor Gerke added two three’s and a field goal for eight points. Madison Miller and Chelsea Born each scored two.

The Lady Panther eighth grade cagers lost their second game to a talented Eastside team, 34 to 21. Chloe Jolloff scored 12 points for the Panthers. Mackenzie Shepherd put in six, and Madison Miller scored three.
