JH Soccer defeats FW Fusion

The Lakewood Park Panther Jr High Soccer team beat Fort Wayne Fusion last night, July 25, at Kreager Park with a final score of 3-1.

The first half was scoreless for 32 minutes before Lakewood’s Landon Roth found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Gabe Hallam. It didn’t take long in the second half for Fusion to tie the game up, but just a couple minutes later Lakewood retook the lead for good with a goal by Reese Matthews and again assisted by Gabe Hallam. Gabe Hallam added a 3rd goal for Lakewood with 20 minutes left after a nice pass from Zack Troyer. Reese Matthews had 2 saves in the first half and Landon Roth had 4 saves in the 2nd half.

The Panthers are back in action on Tuesday August 30th at Kreager Park against Concordia, the only team that defeated the Panthers last year.
