JH Soccer Takes Down Westview

The Lakewood Park Junior High team beat Westview tonight at Westview with a final score of 3-1.

Westview scored first on a penalty kick 10 minutes into the half. One minute later Lakewood earned their own penalty kick. The kick was initially blocked by the Westview keeper, however Colton White followed his shot to tie the game up at 1-1. The rest of the half remained scoreless, with both teams having opportunities to score. In the second half Lakewood was able to take the lead when Gabe Hallam received a pass from Colton White, beat a defender and then found the back of the net with 22:48 on the clock. Lakewood’s 3rd goal came at the 15:48 mark after a series of passes with the final pass from Abraham Eicher to Kellen Exford in the middle of the field where he took a nice shot from 25 yards out. Landon Roth had 1 save in the first half and Reese Matthews had 3 saves in the second half for the Panthers.

The Panthers improved their record to 4-0 and play again Thursday Sept 15th at Kreager Park against Fort Wayne Fusion.
