LP Baseball Faces Rival Canterbury

The Baseball Team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-9 loss to Fort Wayne Canterbury on Monday.
Lakewood Park collected nine hits and Fort Wayne Canterbury had 14 in the high-scoring affair.
Fort Wayne Canterbury opened up scoring in the first inning. Greider singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Lakewood Park scored four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity was led by Drew Lyons, Luke Shively, Chandler Childers, and Grant Merkel, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Fort Wayne Canterbury scored three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by Fort Wayne Canterbury was led by Ward and Akash Messa, who all drove in runs.

Carsten White led things off on the hill for Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Harrison Roberts and Lyons entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and two-thirds innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
Lakewood Park saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Shively, Childers, and Lyons each managed multiple hits for Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity. Shively led Lakewood Park Christian Panthers Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
