Baseball Drops Season Opener

The Lakewood Park Baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 4-0 loss to Fairview on Monday. Fairview scored on 2 walks in the 1st inning. The Panthers lost despite out-hitting Fairview six to five. Despite the loss, the Panthers showed a marked improvement against a team that 10-run ruled them the past 2 years.

Blaine Anderson started the Lakewood hits in the third inning. Harrison Roberts went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lakewood in hits. Lakewood Park was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Carsten White had the most chances in the field with four.

Luke Shively got the start for Lakewood and takes the loss. Drew Lyons threw five and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
