Girls Varsity Soccer Senior Night

The Lakewood Park Panther girls soccer team defeated the Central Noble High School in a home match on September 26th, with a final score of 2-1. Lakewood played inspired soccer all night long fueled by the inspiration of players returning from injury and the impending Senior Night celebration. The Panthers went behind 1-0 with about 10 minutes to go in the first half, but responded quickly with a goal of their own to end the half 1-1. Junior Courtney Davenport played the ball into junior Aubrey Jester who blasted it into the back of the net with the outside of her right foot to score the equalizer. Lakewood started the second half with momentum from the tying goal and a student section imploring them to press forward and get another. The go-ahead goal came from a pass by sophomore Annalisa Haraguchi to Aubrey Jester. Aubrey placed the winning shot in the lower right corner of the goal just outside the reach of the goalkeeper. Junior Julia Vergon came back in the lineup to join senior Saddie Chambless and restore Lakewood’s formidable center back combination. Senior Kayla Tatman was also cleared to play and created numerous scoring opportunities for the Panthers. The Lady Panthers are back in action on Thursday, September 29th in a home match against South Side High School at 5:30 PM.

Seniors Sandra Haraguchi, Saddie Chambless, Kaleigh Collins, Kayla Tatman, and Tori Gallagher were recognized after the match for their contribution as senior athletes to the Lakewood Park Girls Varsity Soccer team. We are proud of our seniors!!!
